7 Rules for More Motivation

An important aspect of mastering many things better is motivation. However, it is precisely this that is often lacking. Unachieved targets, pressure from the boss, small annoyances or great frustration – all together a vicious circle, which can bring the motivation violently into disarray. The following principles of motivation are easy to implement, because they follow very simple ways of thinking and are still very effective – but only if you put them into practice every day. Because: no pain, no gain!

1. set goals that fascinate you!

Setting goals in life is quite logical for most. But that alone is not enough. Often the believed goals are actually just wishes. Clear goals need to be well-defined, which means you need to come to terms with them, and most importantly, they need to be worth working hard on every day. When planning your goals, it is important to know whether you are motivated more by achieving the goal or by the way to achieve it. The main thing is that it is a goal that intrigues and excites you. In other words, a goal that pulls you. Also keep in mind that goals are always very personal things that mean a lot to yourself.

2. think positive!

By no means should you go through the world with rose-colored glasses and ignore everything bad – quite the opposite – it is important that you deal with problems and see them as an opportunity to do something better. The small successes are especially important. You often cannot change a problematic situation you may find yourself in overnight, but you can change your attitude and thus – over time – also improve the situation! A small tip for this: Write down all problems on a list. The next step is the creative phase: think about what advice you would give your best friend in such a situation and then write down your solution. After the problem is solved, check it off, because this way you will also see the successes. The more check marks you have on your list, the better you will feel.

3. make yourself aware of your strengths!

Most of the time, people only pay special attention to a person’s weaknesses or flaws. The strengths, which likewise everyone possesses, are taken for granted. However, if one puts these out once completely consciously, they cause a tremendous motivation push. I can do it! This makes your attitude and thinking more positive – your whole approach can change with it. All of this together releases superior motivational forces, which are the very foundation stones for all other tips.

4.Formulate “belief” principles for yourself!

This does not mean any phrases that you “babble” to yourself every day, i.e. no great sayings that you have picked up somewhere, but behind which you personally do not stand, but firm principles in which you yourself believe. Think about 5 such principles of faith and write them down. Read them every day, right at the beginning of your work. You will feel how motivated you start your working day.

5. Reward yourself and create friends!

Many people perform at their best every day without even once thinking about rewarding themselves. Reward, however, promotes performance – not only in others, but also in yourself! Reward yourself regularly for the many, often small, positive events of each day, then the negative ones won’t weigh quite so heavily. Even if you have a goal firmly in mind, you should still plan enough free time and leisure. Create a balance for yourself, because nothing is worse than becoming dogged. Then usually nothing works out. Friends belong to it in any case, because with them relationship levels arise.

6. face new challenges!

This brings us back to the starting point. Goals always mean a challenge, otherwise they are not worthwhile goals. Mastered challenge strengthens the belief in oneself. This makes you independent and free. You realize that you alone are responsible for your life and can be more serene.

7. close your day on a positive note!

At the end of each work day, write down three things in your schedule that you experienced as positive. Don’t just think about it: write it down! Your motivation will increase with each day, each week, each month. An old saying advises to end each day with a smile. If you interpret this proverb generously, then you could even start the following day with a smile. Isn’t that something?
