Accompanying symptoms | Pulling in the chest

Accompanying symptoms

The accompanying symptoms vary with the underlying disease and can therefore provide important indications for suspected diagnoses in diagnostics. Superficial complaints, which particularly affect the ribs and muscles but also the mammary gland in women, can usually be well localized and intensified by external pressure. They can also become more severe with movement and deep breathing.

Changes in the female breast can be accompanied by typical symptoms of hormonal changes in the woman. Diseases of the cardiovascular system cause not only a pulling in the breast but also typical relevant symptoms. Since the lungs and heart are responsible for the flow of blood and the supply of oxygen to all body cells, the accompanying symptoms can range from shortness of breath, chest pain and dizziness to fainting fits and coma.

Treatment

The treatment varies greatly with the underlying cause. Symptomatically, pulling in the chest can be controlled with painkillers. At first, an attempt is made to use an agent from the NSAID group.

These include ibuprofen, diclofenac and indometacin. If pain persists, higher doses or painkillers of the “opioids” can be taken. Opioids such as “morphine” are also used in the treatment of myocardial infarction, among other things, to relieve severe chest pain.

Furthermore, there are drugs available in the treatment of a heart attack which can stop and dissolve the blood clot, so that the blood circulation in the heart is ensured as quickly as possible. Pulling pain, on the other hand, which comes from the female breast, is usually only treated symptomatically. Often hormonal, necessary processes are behind it. After the changes at the beginning of pregnancy or during menstruation, the complaints subside by themselves.

Duration

A pulling in the breast can be attributed to the female breast. This can be found out quickly during the interview and physical examination. One cause can be inflammation of the mammary glands.

The breast is swollen and reddened and is also very painful. The pain can be narrowed down and can be provoked by external pressure. Also with a growth of the breast it can come to pulling in the breast.

For example at the beginning of a pregnancy the fatty tissue in the breast is transformed to a large extent into functional glandular tissue, which produces the maternal milk. Due to these processes, which go hand in hand with breast growth, a pulling pain often occurs. The pulling is caused by pulling on the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

A similar pulling is also observed in the growth of tumors in the breast. Mostly, these are benign so-called “adenomas”. In rare cases, however, pulling in the breast can also be a symptom of breast cancer.

Even during the monthly period, pulling in the breast is not unusual. Although this is unpleasant, it does not pose a major risk.
