Aceclofenac

Products

Aceclofenac is approved in Germany, among other countries, in the form of film-coated tablets (Beofenac). It is not registered in many countries.

Structure and properties

Aceclofenac (C₁₆H₁₃Cl₂NO₄, M_r = 354.2 g/mol) is structurally related to diclofenac and is partially metabolized to it. It exists as a white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water.

Effects

Aceclofenac (ATC M01AB16) has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Indications

For symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (chronic polyarthritis), and ankylosing spondylitis (ankylosing spondylitis).
