Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of acoustic neuroma.

Family history

  • What is the general health of your family members?
  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common?
  • Are there any hereditary diseases in your family?

Social history

  • What is your profession?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Do you have any hearing loss?
  • If yes, for how long?
  • Does this hearing loss exist on both sides or unilaterally?
  • Does this hearing loss exist for all sounds?
  • Is there additional dizziness or tinnitus (ringing in the ears)?
  • Do you suffer from balance disorders?
