ADH Analog

Effects

ADH analogs (ATC H01BA) are derivatives of the antidiuretic hormone ADH (= vasopressin), which has antidiuretic and vasoconstrictor properties. The vasopressin analogs are modified to be predominantly antidiuretic or predominantly vasoconstrictor.

Indications

  • Diabetes insipidus
  • Enuresis nocturna (bedwetting)
  • Polyuria, polydipsia after hypophysectomy.
  • Acute esophageal variceal bleeding (Terlipressin).
