Only early diagnosis leads to early therapy, which means gain for the patient. Often, symptoms already lead to the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Simple neurophysiological short tests can also lead to diagnosis:
- MMST – Mini-Mental Status Test: classification of dementia patients according to the severity of the disease into two groups (MMST: >15 and MMST: <15) or into:
- MMST 20 to 26 points: mild Alzheimer’s disease.
- MMST 10 to 19 points: moderate/moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
- MMST less than 10 points: severe Alzheimer’s disease.
- SIDAM – Structured interview for the diagnosis of dementia of Alzheimer type.
- DemTect – Dementia Detections Test
- TFDD – Test for early detection of dementia with depression delineation.
