Anal Discomfort (Anorectal Pain): Diagnostic Tests

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics, and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Proctoscopy (endoscopy of the rectum; examination of the anal canal and the lower rectum/ rectum)
  • Abdominal sonography (ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs) – for basic diagnostics.
  • Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen (abdominal CT) – if necessary for further diagnostics.
