approx. 5% essential oil of fine aroma, angelic acid, resin, tannin, bittering agent. The drug is typical aromatic bittering agent.

Healing effects and use of angelica root

Flatulence, loss of appetite. Has an antispasmodic effect and stimulates bile flow. The bitter substances stimulate the appetite. Important ingredient of stomach liqueurs.

Preparation of angelica root

Pour a large cup of boiling water over 1 heaped teaspoon of finely chopped drug, cover and leave to stand for 10 minutes. In case of lack of appetite, drink a cup of tea sweetened with honey warm before eating. For flatulence unsweetened at and after meals.

Combination with other medicinal plants

In case of loss of appetite, can be combined with many medicinal plants such as dost, parsley root, verbena, peppermint, wormwood.
