Application for an anal fissure | Lidocaine Ointment

Application for an anal fissure

An anal fissure is a mucosal defect in the area of the anus. A primary anal fissure is often very painful. It is caused by chronic hard bowel movements in case of constipation or by chronic diarrhea or anal intercourse.

The pain persists for a few minutes after the bowel movement. Since this is a very sensitive region that is constantly stressed, conservative therapy takes several weeks to months. Primarily this disease is treated with stool regulation, anti-inflammatory and pain-reducing ointments. For example, one starts with Posterisan akut® rectal ointment 50mg/g three times a day. It reduces the pain and thus facilitates the defecation.

Use in case of anal venous thrombosis

Anal venous thrombosis is a sudden painful swelling localized in the venous plexus, which is located in the anal region. The burning, stabbing pain increases during and after defecation. If the pain is minor and symptoms are minor, conservative therapy is appropriate.

Ointments containing lidocaine relieve the pain. In addition, painkillers can be taken if the ointment alone is not sufficient. A soft bowel movement should be achieved with high-fiber food in order to prevent mechanical pain intensification.

Application in case of gingivitis

Tattooing is a process in which a colored pattern is created by introducing dyes into the incised skin. This process can be very painful. Pain is a subjective sensory perception, which should protect the body from damage.

The pain threshold varies from person to person and does not correlate with the extent of tissue damage. Before applying a tattoo, it is possible to apply a lidocaine ointment to the skin one hour before, so that the individual needle stitches are not or less strongly felt. Not only the needle, but also the constant cleaning leads to an irritation of the skin.

Before a tattoo is stung, one cleans the skin area to be tattooed. Next, an hour before the tattoo is applied the ointment containing local anesthetic. The ointment maintains its effect for about two hours.
