Application on the shoulder | ThermaCare® Heat Patch

Application on the shoulder

ThermaCare® heat plasters can also be used to treat tension and pain in the shoulder area. The special neck heat pads, for example, which are simply stuck onto the affected shoulder, are suitable for this purpose. Here, just as with application on the neck, the patch should not be worn when lying down.

Dosage

A dosage of ThermaCare® heat plasters is based primarily on the duration of application, i.e. how long the product is worn on the body. Once the patches have been applied to the affected area of the body, it takes about 30 minutes for them to warm up to 40 degrees Celsius, allowing the effects to unfold. This effect then lasts up to eight hours. In order to achieve a warming of even deeper tissue and muscle layers, which should lead to the desired pain relief, an application of at least three hours is recommended. However, if the patch is found to be too hot or otherwise uncomfortable, it should be removed early. It should also be removed at the latest when the heat is no longer released.

Price

The price of ThermaCare® heat patches varies greatly and depends on the size of the pack and the type of patch (for example, for the neck or back). In addition, prices at the local pharmacy or drugstore may differ from those of Internet providers. For example, four ThermaCare® Rücḱenumschläge patches cost about 20 euros.

The price for a pack of two Thermacare® heat pads for larger pain areas is about eleven euros. Two heat pads for the neck are available for about eight euros. It is definitely worth comparing the prices, as the product is sometimes available at reduced prices both in pharmacies and on the Internet. Those who cannot or do not want to spend so much money on the heat patches can try out a treatment with “classic” heat sources such as hot-water bottles, grain cushions or a red light lamp.
