BEMER Physical Vascular Therapy

Health, performance and the aging process of a person depend crucially on a functioning microcirculation. All life processes in our organism are based on energy conversions, which are essentially realized in each cell by adenosine triphosphate (ATP). An indispensable prerequisite for the formation of ATP is the supply of all cells with nutrients and vital substances (macro- and micronutrients) and considerable amounts of oxygen. The decisive regulatory process that ensures the supply and disposal of the cells is the microcirculation. After all, about 75% of the entire blood circulation takes place in the fine and very wide network of the smallest blood vessels (capillaries). The most important regulatory process that controls blood distribution in the area of microcirculation is called vasomotion. In this process, the blood vessels upstream and downstream of the capillaries constrict and dilate autorhythmically, thereby decisively supporting the pumping action of the heart. In the area of the smallest caliber arterioles (small arteries) and venules (small veins), vasomotion cannot be influenced by either nervous or medicinal stimulation. In contrast, “BEMER physical vascular therapy” specifically stimulates the restricted or disturbed vasomotion of the small- and large-caliber blood vessels involved and thus expands the regulatory range (i.e., range of adaptation) of organ perfusion to current metabolic requirements. For effective stimulation on the regulation of microcirculation, a precisely defined temporal signal sequence and signal configuration (stimulus) is a prerequisite. BEMER technology uses a low-frequency electromagnetic alternating field with a low flux density (within the framework of the earth’s natural magnetic field) to transmit the effective impulse to the body, as this is technically easier to implement. Research results of the Institute for Microcirculation in Berlin about the processes of blood circulation regulation and metabolic conditions during the night’s rest found their way into an additional signal configuration in 2010. It significantly promotes the repair processes, the excretion of urinary substances and the body’s immune defense during the night’s rest. A large number of diseases are caused by disturbances of the microcirculation or at least influenced by them in their course. This is precisely where BEMER therapy comes into play due to its mechanism of action as a physical micro-vascular pacemaker. In this way, BEMER therapy has a targeted effect on essential causes as well as concomitant symptoms of diseases.

Indications (areas of application)

According to the holistic approach of the BEMER effect, all healing mechanisms of the human being are positively supported to eliminate health disorders. Overall, the effects of the biophysical impulses generated by the BEMER sets are not a substitute for currently accepted treatment concepts. However, they are an effective and therapy-optimizing supplement for numerous indications. Often it is even possible to reduce the dose of pharmacological therapy (including a reduction in side effects!). The systems for the application of BEMER therapy are certified products of medical device class II a – for these products there is a legal obligation to report adverse events or special occurrences. Since 1998, no adverse events or special occurrences have been reported or detected anywhere in the world. The use of BEMER therapy thus fulfills the most important requirement of Hippocrates’ medical oath: Nihil nocere – Never harm! Treatment successes have been found in studies and medical user observations for the following indications, among others:

  • General pain
  • General well-being
  • Bronchial asthma
  • Burnout syndrome
  • Cephalgia (headache), including migraine.
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS – Chronic Fatique Syndrome).
  • Depression
  • Circulatory disorders (leg ulcer)
  • Inflammations
  • Erectile dysfunction (ED; erectile dysfunction).
  • Skin diseases
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Insomnia (sleep disorders)
  • Circulatory disorders, functional
  • Muscle tension
  • Neuralgia (nerve pain)
  • Psychovegetative disorders
  • Rheumatism
  • Sports: performance capacity – regeneration or lactate reduction.
  • Metabolic disorders (diabetes mellitus type 2; hypercholesterolemia).
  • Spinal syndrome
  • Wound healing disorders / scarring

In the field of sports, the BEMER application makes the muscles more quickly ready to perform (shortened warm-up phase), performance is increased by the increased formation of ATP, after great athletic efforts, regeneration is accelerated and there is also a reduced risk of injury.

Contraindications

  • Condition after transplantation of foreign organs and tissues (as long as the use of immunosuppressants is prescribed by a physician)
  • Contraindications mentioned for other electromagnetic field devices (eg, metal implants, pregnancy, etc.) do not apply to the BEMER systems.
  • For CE – certified electronic implants (eg, pacemakers, defibrillators) according to the 2010 guidelines and proper adjustment by the specialist), the BEMER systems can be used without restriction.

The application

In BEMER therapy, a distinction is made between:

  • The BEMER Basic Plan. The application is very easy to perform for the maintenance of health for young and old after instruction by a medical product consultant.
  • The targeted BEMER additional treatment. A targeted treatment (intensive treatment) should be carried out in principle following the BEMER Basic Plan treatment, as this sets important basic processes in motion, on which the targeted treatment can build optimally.
  • The complementary medicine BEMER treatment. The complementary medicine treatment of diseases should ideally be coordinated by a doctor experienced in BEMER therapy.

A thorough briefing on the use of the device is necessary for use in the home. This is carried out expertly by medical device consultants, if necessary by additional consideration of a medical treatment plan.

User Instructions

Support of BEMER therapy. The effect of BEMER therapy can be further optimized by considering a few tips:

  • Taking a comfortable body position
  • Avoidance of too tight or constricting clothing (obstruction of deep abdominal breathing).
  • Selection of a well-tempered room for treatment (eg bedroom).
  • Avoidance of stress or distraction (turn off cell phone).
  • Before use, refrain from drinking coffee or tea
  • After use, refrain from drinking tobacco products (about 1 hour).
  • Before and after use, drink a glass of non-carbonated water – throughout the day should drink about 1 1/2-2 liters.

Restrictions of BEMER therapy exist with:

  • Fever
  • Severe cardiac arrhythmia
  • Non-compensated seizure disorders
  • Taking anticoagulant medications (e.g., Marcumar).

For these medical conditions, a physician experienced in BEMER treatment should be consulted before using BEMER therapy. Incompatibilities of the BEMER therapy. The BEMER Sleep Program (2010) is a very effective treatment method of microcirculatory compensation disorders associated with various sleep disorders. However, its application may not lead to the desired success in one or the other case (e.g. if certain medically prescribed drugs for the treatment of existing cardiovascular diseases are taken at the same time). In these (rare) cases, only the BEMER Day Program should be used initially. In general, it is recommended to start “creeping in” when using the BEMER Sleep Program.
