“Black before eyes” for low blood pressure

The blackening of the field of vision occurs after seeing flashes of light or asterisks and is a common symptom of low blood pressure. The field of vision is dark so that it is not possible to see. This also happens when you quickly change your body position.

Just like seeing stars, a lack of oxygen is produced in the brain or retina. The visual cells stop working temporarily if the oxygen deficiency persists. As a result, you only see black. This condition is only of short duration. If everything is supplied with blood again normally, you will quickly regain your normal vision without any restrictions.

Ringing in the ears due to low blood pressure

Noises in the ears, like dizziness or visual disturbances, are usually caused by a reduced blood flow to the brain. It manifests itself by a hissing or high-pitched whistling, as is also perceived in tinnitus. If the brain is not sufficiently supplied with blood, the ringing in the ears is often accompanied by symptoms such as dizziness or visual disturbances.

Freezing due to low blood pressure

The body surface is warmed up mainly by increased blood circulation. When blood pressure is low, however, not enough blood reaches the small vessels on the surface. Patients with low blood pressure therefore have reduced blood circulation and therefore often have an increased sensation of cold and freeze faster than other people. This is why most of those affected also have cold hands and feet, as it is most difficult to transport the blood at low pressure to the ends of the arms and legs.

Ear pressure due to low blood pressure

Ear pressure is a very unspecific symptom that is not necessarily associated with low blood pressure. The ear pressure can be described with the following symptoms, which are always of varying intensity. Starting with a harmless feeling of pressure that can be compensated by swallowing (like in an elevator), to a strong and unpleasantly sharp pain, dizziness, ringing in the ears, hearing noises in the ear, impaired hearing and ending with deafness. In addition, some affected people describe a feeling in the ear as if it is blocked. In summary, every affected person has an unpleasant feeling in the ear when they suffer from ear pressure.
