Bladder weakness | Granufink®

Bladder weakness

According to the package insert, Granufink® serves to strengthen or invigorate the bladder function. However, it is not known how the drug works and for which form of bladder weakness it should be used. Granufink® is a traditional medicinal product that is only registered on the basis of many years of use. There is therefore no proof of a benefit for bladder weakness. If symptoms are present and a medical examination has ruled out an illness requiring treatment, an attempt can be made to relieve the symptoms by taking Granufink®.

Prostate Enlargement

The most important condition for which Granufink® is taken is benign prostate enlargement with the resulting complaints. The prostate (prostate gland) is only present in men and produces a proportion of the seminal fluid (ejaculate). With increasing age, the size of the organ increases naturally. As it surrounds the part of the urethra located inside the body, it becomes narrower as it becomes larger, which leads to problems when urinating and an increased urge to urinate (especially at night). Taking Granufink® is intended to counteract the enlargement of the prostate and relieve the symptoms.

Active ingredient, effect

As with many herbal medicines, side effects from taking Granufink® are very rarely to be feared. Most likely, mild gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, abdominal pain or diarrhea can occur. Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to one of the active ingredients contained in Granufink® are much less common.

Such a reaction can become noticeable, for example, by a skin rash and itching. If side effects occur, Granufink should not be taken any further. If the side effects are very pronounced, a doctor should also be consulted.

Interaction

Interactions with other drugs are not to be feared when taking Granufink® properly. The active ingredients contained in Granufink® have no influence on organ function and do not lead to a change in the liver‘s ability to break down drugs. Nevertheless, all drugs, including herbal products such as Granufink®, should always be declared to every physician. This is particularly true if the doctor wants to start a new drug or discontinue an existing one.
