The following are the most important diseases or complications that may be contributed to by brucellosis:

Respiratory system (J00-J99)

  • Pneumonia (pneumonia)

Eyes and eye appendages (H00-H59).

Blood, blood-forming organs – immune system (D50-D90).

Cardiovascular system (I00-I99)

Infectious and parasitic diseases (A00-B99).

  • Recurrent (recurring) infection.

Liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts-pancreas (pancreas) (K70-K77; K80-K87).

  • Cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation).
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
  • Peritonitis (inflammation of the peritoneum)

Musculoskeletal system and connective tissue (M00-M99)

  • Arthritis (inflammation of the joints)
  • Bursitis (bursitis)
  • Sacroiliitis – inflammation of the sacroiliac joint, which is located between the sacrum and the hip bone.
  • Spinal brucellosis (sclerosing disease of the vertebrae).
  • Spondylitis – inflammation of the vertebral joints.

Psyche – nervous system (F00-F99; G00-G99)

  • Depression
  • Meningitis (meningitis)

Pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium (O00-O99)

  • Abortion (miscarriage)

Symptoms and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings not elsewhere classified (R00-R99)

  • Fever

Genitourinary system (kidneys, urinary tract – reproductive organs) (N00-N99)

  • Epididymo-orchitis – inflammation of the testis and epididymis.
