BWS Syndrome – effects on the heart

BWS syndrome can cause chest pain similar to angina pectoris (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart muscle). This often causes patients anxiety. Vegetative symptoms such as sweating or shortness of breath can also be triggered by a blockage in the area of the BWS or ribs.

If the joints are not functioning properly, nervous structures can be irritated or the blood flow situation can be changed, resulting in pain. If there are problems with the rib joints, one may feel that one cannot breathe deeply enough or pain may occur during breathing. By releasing blockages of the rib joints or the vertebral joints, these symptoms can also be reduced.

In order to differentiate the symptoms from acute heart pain, one can ask some important questions: In case of doubt, a doctor should always be consulted in case of severe chest pain with radiating or accompanying symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, sweating or palpitations. A BWS syndrome can also trigger chest pain and breathing difficulties.

  • Can I trigger the pain through movement or breathing?
  • Can I trigger the pain by pressing on a specific point?
  • Do the jokes occur during physical or psychological stress?
  • Does the symptomatology improve at rest? (More likely caused by the heart – consult a doctor! )
