Care products and make-up | The right care for oily skin

Care products and make-up

In addition to skin cleansing, there are also skin care products designed for the skin of people with existing problems. These include above all creams, powders and tinctures. There is a wide range of products available on the market: night creams, lotions, moisturizers, day creams, and many other products advertise that they are the right remedy to combat oily skin.

It is especially important to avoid oily ointments and creams when treating oily skin. An oily ointment or paste would exacerbate the problem, as these sebaceous glands would become clogged and oily skin, which tends to develop acne anyway, would have even more problems of this kind. For this reason, creams for oily skin contain a large amount of water, whereas the fat content is low.

Some creams also contain antibacterial agents, which can prevent infection from skin impurities. Most commercially available creams also contain substances that have a calming and sometimes cooling effect on the affected skin. A key issue for women with oily skin is the choice of the right make-up.

The use of too much make-up can lead to the glands responsible for the production of sebum, and thus the oily skin texture, becoming clogged and possibly causing inflammation. There are, however, make-ups, mostly powder-based, which do not contain comodogenic ingredients (which promote the development of blackheads) and are suitable for people who tend to have oily skin. These make-ups also have a matting effect and can conceal oily skin by reducing its shine.

Household remedies for the care of oily skin

In addition to these products, there are also a number of household remedies that can be effective for the care of impure and oily skin. The best known remedy for oily skin is the use of chamomile. Especially a bath or the selective application of chamomile tea to the skin can have a calming effect on the skin due to the ingredients of chamomile.

A steam treatment with chamomile can also have this effect on the skin. It is important to ensure that the products are not too hot when they come into contact with the skin, as hot temperatures can stimulate the production of sebum. Local application of apple vinegar can also combat the clinical picture of oily skin.

Thus, this household remedy is especially helpful in the treatment of blackheads. Another well-known method against oily skin, acne, and blackheads is the use of skin masks. There are a number of different masks, most of which can be made from a base of yogurt or quark itself.

Regular use of the face masks can treat oily skin and provide additional skin care. In order to treat the skin gently, care should always be taken that the products used are not applied with a towel or washcloth, but that the affected skin only comes into contact with gentle paper towels that do not additionally irritate the skin.
