Effects

Caroverin (ATC A03AX11) is spasmolytic on smooth muscle with predominantly musculotropic effects.

Indications

Spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, urinary tract, and female genital tract in dysmenorrhea. Under investigation, not approved: Tinnitus, single infusion.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Respiratory and cardiac insufficiency
  • Severe hypotension
  • Glaucoma
  • Pregnancy and lactation: see SmPC

Precautions: Hypotensive states

Interactions

The effect of concomitantly administered antihypertensive drugs may be increased and the effect of antihypotensive drugs may be decreased.

Adverse effects

Occasional:

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Sweating
  • Headache
  • Feeling of heat in the head
  • Unpleasant taste on the tongue
  • Nausea
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Constipation
  • Skin rashes
