The following symptoms and complaints may indicate central sleep apnea syndrome (ZSAS):
- Nonrestorative sleep
- Snoring
- Morning headache
- Daytime sleepiness
- Nocturnal awakening
- Hypoxemia – lack of oxygen in the blood, this is also observed in the daytime.
