Cervical Node: Diagnostic Tests

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics, and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Thyroid sonography (ultrasound of the thyroid gland).
  • Thyroid scintigraphy – diagnostic procedure of nuclear medicine, which can be used for both functional and morphological examination of the thyroid gland.
  • X-ray of the thorax (X-ray thorax / chest).
  • Barium pre-swallow examination – contrast medium examination to show the swallowing process.
  • Computed tomography of the neck region (neck CT) or the thorax (thoracic CT) – for further diagnosis.
