Chicken Eye (Clavus): Examination

A comprehensive clinical examination is the basis for selecting further diagnostic steps:

  • General physical examination – including blood pressure, pulse, body weight, height; furthermore:
    • Inspection (viewing) of the foot [clavi?]
    • of the further examination of:
      • Periphyton pulse status (palpation of the foot pulses of the tibial artery and dorsalis pedis artery, bilaterally).
      • Skin temperature, skin tugor, and perspiration [dry skin?]
      • Gait
      • Shoes and insoles (tactile control) [tight shoes?, high heels?]
  • Orthopedic examination – if necessary, including pedography (electronic measurement of the feet, which serves both static and dynamic pressure distribution under the soles).

Square brackets [ ] indicate possible pathological (pathological) physical findings.
