The following are the major conditions or complications that may be contributed to by a clavicle fracture (collarbone fracture):
Musculoskeletal system and connective tissue (M00-M99).
- Osteoarthritis
- Pseudarthrosis (false joint) – in up to 15% of cases with conservative therapy.
Symptoms and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings not elsewhere classified (R00-R99).
- Chronic pain – in up to 25% of cases with conservative therapy.
Injuries, poisonings, and other consequences of external causes (S00-T98).
- Functional impairment
- Vascular injury
- Subclavian artery (“subclavian artery”).
- Nerve injuries
- Brachial plexus (nerve plexus) – irritation of the plexus occurs in up to 30% of cases with conservative therapy
