Color Change of the Skin (Macula): Medical History

Medical history represents an important component in the diagnosis of macular or maculae (color change of the skin).

Family history

  • What is the general health of your relatives?
  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common?
  • Are there any hereditary diseases in your family?

Social history

  • What is your profession?
  • Are you exposed to harmful working substances in your profession?

Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Where are the spots localized? Only in one area or distributed over the entire body?
  • How long have the spots existed?
  • Are the skin lesions painful?
  • Was there a trigger known to you for the formation of the spots?
  • Do the spots itch?
  • Are there other symptoms such as fever, general feeling of illness, etc.?
