Combination Skin

Combination skin is characterized by an oily – often also moist – forehead, nose and chin area (T-zone), while the other parts of the face are rather dry. The body skin is normal or dry.

You can recognize combination skin by:

  • The skin is shiny, especially on the chin, nose and forehead (T-zone), pores are dilated.
  • The skin tends to blackheads and pimples in the T-zone area.
  • The skin looks pale and gray, and slightly red and flaky in the T-zone area.
  • The skin texture shows few lines and wrinkles.
  • The hair quickly becomes greasy.

Frequency of combination skin

In the male sex, the amount of sebum increases significantly from the 8th to the 17th year of life and slightly until the 25th year of life, decreases slightly until the 40th year of life and then drops significantly until the 60th year of life. Later, it hardly decreases.In the female sex, the amount of sebum also increases significantly from 8 to 17 years of age and slightly until 25 years of age, but then it decreases continuously until old age.
