Camomile flowers are a component of many tea blends, especially for digestive tract disorders. It is also used as a so-called constitene which is supposed to improve the appearance of a tea blend. In case of bile complaints it is recommended to mix the camomile blossoms in equal parts with peppermint leaves and to prepare a tea as described above. If you have nervous stomach ailments, mix chamomile blossoms and lemon balm leaves in equal parts.

Application in homeopathy

Here Chamomilla has a clear relation to the autonomic nervous system. For nervous hypersensitivity, the so-called “irritable weakness”, impatience, pain hypersensitivity.For nervous insomnia, facial neuralgia, headaches. Also for fullness with a bitter taste in the mouth and flatulence. Indicated especially when the complaints are worsened in the evening and at night, as well as by heat and annoyance. The cramps in the gastrointestinal tract, however, are improved by heat.

Contraindication

The medicinal plant chamomile should never have contact with the eyes. The fine hairs of the camomile flower are very irritating to the eyes. Camomile is one of the most popular and old well-known medicinal plants.

It is known from ancient times. Probably originating from Eurasia, the Germanic tribes dedicated the medicinal plant camomile to the god Baldur. This should be harvested on the day of St. John, because it would have a particularly high healing power on that day.

This is why camomile is particularly valued in folk medicine. Hieronymus Bock and Jakob Theodor Tabernaemontanus already mentioned chamomile in ancient times as an effective wound and stomach remedy.
