Corn Poppy: Dosage

Poppy blossoms are a component of some tea mixtures as a decorative drug. In Germany there is no herbal remedy from the flowers, in France there is an extract of the flowers, which is used for sleep disorders.

The recommendation of a daily dose is not possible, because for this the flowers are still too little researched.

Corn poppy flowers: preparation

To prepare a tea from corn poppy flowers, 2 teaspoons of the drug (1 teaspoon equals about 0.8 g) are poured over boiling water, allowed to steep for 10 minutes, and then passed through a tea strainer. For better loosening of mucus in obstructed airways or bronchi, a cup of the tea, possibly sweetened with honey, can be drunk 2-3 times a day.

Interactions with other remedies and contraindications are currently not known.

Storage of corn poppy flowers

Corn poppy flowers should be stored in a dry place away from light. The flowers should be used within one year, otherwise they will fade and become unsightly.
