Corneal Ulcer: Complications

The following are the most important diseases or complications that can be caused by a corneal ulcer:

Eyes and eye appendages (H00-H59).

  • Impairment of vision, in extreme cases threatening blindness due to corneal perforation (risk of endophthalmitis/inflammation of the interior of the eye).
  • Hypopyon – accumulation of pus in the anterior chamber of the eye.
  • Scars on the cornea
