Cost of a breast lift

Definition

Most women would like to have firm, full and youthful looking breasts, but as aging, rapid weight loss, pregnancy and breast-feeding times put increasing strain on the breast tissue, a so-called “sagging bosom” often develops. Plastic surgery can help the affected women by means of a breast lift (mastopexy) and shape a beautiful breast. However, as is the case with all cosmetic operations, a breast lift is usually not covered by the health insurance.

This means that both statutory and private health insurance companies do not cover the costs incurred and the patient herself must pay for the procedure. The exact costs of a breast lift (mastopexy) depend on the one hand on the chosen method of treatment and on the other hand on the extent of the corrective measures, but also vary greatly from doctor to doctor and even from town to town. In most cases, there are very good plastic surgeons, especially in small towns, who offer a breast lift comparatively cheaply.

In a consultation, the patient should explain to her trusted plastic surgeon exactly what is currently bothering her about her breast and what improvements she would like to see. Only then can the doctor decide what measures are to be taken and which of the possible treatment methods is most suitable for her individual case. In general, the costs for the actual operation in Germany vary between 4000 and 6000 Euros.

In addition to these costs, there is the payment for general anaesthesia and the booking of an operating theatre. The follow-up treatment, on the other hand, is usually covered by the costs of the operation. In addition, after the breast lift, a hospital stay of at least one day is necessary for monitoring.

During this time, the vital signs, i.e. pulse, blood pressure and respiration, are monitored, and care is also taken to ensure that there is no secondary bleeding in the area of the surgical incisions. In an emergency, quick action can be taken. Many plastic surgeons also charge a small amount of money (approx.

50 euros) for the extensive consultation for a breast lift. However, in many cases, if you decide to have a breast lift, these costs will be deducted from the actual surgical costs. Many cosmetic surgery practices have been working with financing institutions for some time, so an aesthetic operation no longer remains an option for people with particularly high incomes.

Everyone should have the opportunity to take advantage of such an operation. The costs for performing a breast lift abroad are usually far below the sums required in Germany. Here the patient pays around 1400 – 2500 Euros for the actual operation.

In the past, such operations abroad were considered to be very risky, as foreign doctors were often said to be less competent or lacking in hygiene measures. In general, however, these prejudices are not true. Poland and Turkey in particular offer very well trained, capable specialists who place the highest demands on their practice staff.

In this respect, one should inform oneself in advance in detail. Furthermore, before plastic-aesthetic surgery is performed, it should be considered that further costs may be incurred due to possible complications, as health insurance companies are not obliged to cover treatment measures that are necessary due to plastic surgery. If you decide to have a breast lift, you should take out additional insurance.

The costs for this amount to an average of 80 euros once. This is a small amount, but it is a good investment in the case of cosmetic surgery.
