Costs for a bridge

The cost of a bridge varies depending on the design and material. A ceramic bridge is more expensive than a metal veneered bridge or a non-precious metal bridge. Furthermore, the length of the bridge and the included pontics and bridge teeth are important.A bridge becomes more expensive the more teeth and gaps are replaced by the bridge, the larger its span is. A three-unit bridge, which includes one gap and two teeth, is within a price range of 800 to 1500 Euros, depending on the material. This price range would also apply to a free-end bridge with two teeth and one trailer tooth.

Cost of an implant

Implants are artificial tooth roots that are inserted into the jaw in the event of tooth loss or the failure of a tooth to attach to the jaw, and then combined with dental prostheses to completely replace teeth. A dental implant is usually not subsidized by a health insurance company and is a purely private service. Only in exceptional cases are implants covered by health insurance, for example, due to a tumor disease or an accident in which the jaw and face have to be reconstructed with the implants.

Because the implants are a purely private service, the costs vary so much among dentists that it can be worth comparing prices. You can expect prices from about 1000 Euro per implant to 2500 Euro. The dental prosthesis that is placed on the implant is then again subsidized by the health insurance company and, in the case of a single crown, for example, costs around 500 to 700 euros.

If bone has to be “augmented”, i.e. built up, before the implantation, the costs will skyrocket. An augmentation is in a price category from 1000 Euro upwards, with additional costs being added if necessary. However, one should not be tempted by the cheapest offer, since implant systems have very different qualities and this will be noticeable. Implants for orthodontic treatment to anchor wires and arches, so-called palatal implants, are also in the four-digit price range, depending on the remaining form of therapy and duration of therapy.
