Costs of an MRI of the lumbar spine (LWS)

The cost of an MRI examination of the lumbar spine is at least €244.81 for private patients and self-payers. A maximum of 612,02€ may be charged.In addition to the costs of the MRI examination, costs for consultation, contrast medium and further imaging in a different position may be added. In the case of patients with statutory health insurance, the radiologist may charge €124.60 to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians for a pure MRI examination of the lumbar spine.

The costs for an MRI examination of the cervical spine are at least 244.81€ for private patients and self-payers. A maximum of 612,02€ may be charged. In addition to the costs for the MRI examination, costs for consultation, contrast medium and further imaging in a different position can be added. For patients with health insurance, the radiologist may charge 124.60€ to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians for the pure MRI examination of the cervical spine.

The cost of an MRI examination of the thoracic spine is at least €244.81 for private patients and self-payers. A maximum of 612,02€ may be charged. In addition to the costs for the MRI examination, costs for consultation, contrast medium and further imaging in a different position can be added.

For patients with health insurance, the radiologist may charge 124.60€ to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians for the pure MRI examination of the thoracic spine. The costs for an MRI examination of the back are made up of the individual costs for. In total, the costs of all three spinal column sections would amount to between 734.43€ and 1836.06€ for private patients and 373.80€ for patients covered by health insurance.
