As wrinkle treatment with ultrasound is a purely plastic, aesthetic measure, it is not covered by either statutory or private health insurance. The patient has to pay all costs independently. Furthermore, the patient must also pay for all follow-up costs.
This means that if complications (e.g. inflammation) occur after the treatment and further measures become necessary, all costs incurred must be paid by the patient himself/herself. In this case, the normal insurance coverage is no longer valid and the insurance companies are not forced to cover the treatment. For some time now, however, many German insurance companies have been offering special rates for planned plastic, aesthetic treatments.A complete insurance protection which covers all possible consequences amounts to approximately 80 Euro, which are to be paid once before the planned therapy date.
The costs for wrinkle treatment with ultrasound vary greatly from practice to practice. On average, the price for one session is between 25 and 40 Euros. However, since an optimal result cannot be guaranteed with a single session, the patient must be prepared for about 10-20 sessions. The total price for a complete wrinkle treatment with ultrasound in several sessions is therefore in the range of 250 – 800 Euros. In many practices and clinics, special complete packages are offered to reduce costs, which reduce the price many times over.
What kind of results can realistically be expected?
When used regularly, ultrasound treatment stimulates the body’s own collagen synthesis. As the skin is warmed by the vibrations of the ultrasound device, the blood circulation of the skin is also stimulated in this way. Furthermore, the skin pores are opened and thus annoying blackheads or pimples are reduced.
This is why face creams can also reach the deeper layers of the skin through the open pores and develop their full effect there. If the facial skin is regularly treated with the ultrasound device, a visible improvement in wrinkles and skin texture can be seen after only about 3 months. It is important to mention that the effect of the treatment also depends on the device used and the skin cell renewal. Therefore, one should be prepared for individual improvements of the skin, which will not be as visible as surgical procedures using Botox/Hyualuronic acid.
