Course of epidural lipomatosis

Epidural lipomatosis can progress if not treated. Therefore, the elimination of causative factors, such as obesity or steroid therapy, should always be sought. In cases of severe progression and paralysis, surgical decompression is necessary.

After this, however, epidural lipomatosis may reoccur. However, there is also the possibility of a recurrence-free condition.
