Cream against inflammation of the glans

There are numerous causes for inflammation of the glans (balantitis). A distinction is made between infectious inflammation of the glans and non-infectious inflammation. Non-infectious inflammation is caused by mechanical irritation, a moist environment or allergic reactions such as to latex.

Infectious inflammation is caused by various pathogens: bacterial, viral and fungal infections can be responsible for it. In connection with frequently occurring inflammations in the genital area, one should also think of sexually transmitted diseases and have this clarified. It is important to optimize the environment of the skin on the glans.

On the one hand, this means that the skin of the glans is not too moist, since a moist environment is an optimal germination ground for bacteria. And on the other hand, the skin environment should not be dried out and damaged by washing too often or drying out the penis too much. To treat inflammation, creams containing cortisone can be used and, if necessary, an additional antibacterial agent can be added. However, creams containing cortisone should not be used permanently. Therefore, it is recommended to consider other anti-inflammatory agents.

Cream against inflammation by piercing

The hygienic care of freshly pierced piercings is essential to prevent inflammations. During the first days a slight reddening in the area of the puncture site is normal. In this phase Kamillosan solutions or beta-saodona solutions are recommended to clean and keep the wound clean. Inflammations should be avoided and treated with antibiotic ointments. If the inflammation worsens or spreads, either the advice of the piercer or a doctor should be sought.

Cream against inflammation in the mouthOral mucosaGums

Inflammations in the area of the mouth must be observed particularly carefully because the inflammations are carried over into the brain via the bloodstream and can thus become very dangerous. Inflammations in the mouth can originate from the oral mucosa or the gums. Also at this point, different pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi) besides allergic or toxic (heat, burns) reactions are possible.

Sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhoea or syphilis can also be responsible for inflammation in the mouth. If the lesions or inflammations in the mouth persist for more than two weeks, they should be urgently examined by a doctor to rule out malignant formations. Cream therapy is performed with disinfectant creams (chlorhexidine) and ointments based on glucocorticoids (triamine quinolone). Depending on the pathogen, antibiotics, antivirals or antifungals are used.
