Creams and ointments | Traumeel®

Creams and ointments

In addition to the use of Traumeel® as tablets, creams and ointments are also available. According to the manufacturer, these act directly through the skin in the various injuries. The creams are available in tubes of 50 and 100 grams.

To treat the injuries, the cream is applied thinly to the affected area up to three times a day, as required. If necessary, a bandage can also be applied over it. Traumeel® cream can also be used on infants and toddlers.

However, contact with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds should be avoided. Similar to the use of tablets, side effects can also occur when using creams. Incompatibility reactions and allergies to the ingredients are possible. These often manifest themselves in the area of the affected skin and become noticeable by redness, swelling and itching.

Drop

Another form of Traumeel® is the application in the form of drops. As with tablets, the effect of Traumeel® should be achieved from the inside out. There are probably 30 as well as 100 ml packages available on the market.

Please note that the drops of Traumeel® contain alcohol. For adults, the drops should be administered three times a day. Swallow 10 drops at a time.

In case of acute and serious complaints the dose can be increased up to eight times a day. In children and adolescents, the dose must be adjusted according to the package insert. The drops should always be taken before meals.

The drops can be swallowed in combination with a glass of water. Side effects comparable to those of tablets or creams may also occur. Incompatibility reactions against ingredients are possible. Furthermore, allergic skin reactions (redness, swelling, itching) may occur.

Gel

Gels are another application of Traumeel®. These are available in both 50 and 100 g tubes.During application, care should be taken to ensure that the gel is not applied to open skin areas, mucous membranes or areas treated with radiation. Application in children under one year of age is not recommended due to insufficient data available.

The Traumeel® gel should be applied twice a day to the affected area. If necessary, it can be used more often. However, if the symptoms diminish, it should be ensured that it is applied less and less frequently for the treatment of injuries. As with the other forms of application of Traumeel®, comparable side effects are possible. Allergic skin reactions (redness, swelling, itching) may occur.
