Cystic Fibrosis: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis (CF).

Family history

  • Is there a frequent history of lung disease in your family?
  • Are there any hereditary diseases in your family?

Social anamnesis

Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
  • Do you suffer from frequent respiratory infections?
  • Do you have frequent productive cough? What does the sputum look like?
  • Do you have any additional gastrointestinal symptoms? Which ones?
  • Are there any abnormalities in your bowel movements? Color, shape, odor?
  • How long have these symptoms existed?

Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.

Self anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis
