Cytomegaly: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of cytomegaly.

Family history

  • What is the general health of your family members?

Social history

  • What is your profession?
  • Do you live in a community facility?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Suffer from general feeling of illness with:
    • Headache and pain in the limbs
    • Muscle/joint pain
    • Fever/night sweats
    • Lymph node enlargement(s)
    • Fatigue
    • Cough
  • Have you noticed inflammation of the eyes, throat, or salivary glands?

If a newborn is affected:

  • Is the development of body weight normal?
  • Does the child suffer from jaundice?
  • Has a skin rash or small skin hemorrhages been noticed?
  • Are any other changes noticeable?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Do you practice adequate personal hygiene?
  • Have you ever received blood or blood products?
  • Has there been any change in your appetite?

Self history including medication history.

  • Pre-existing conditions (infectious diseases)
  • Operations
  • Allergies
  • Pregnancies
  • Medication history
