Structure and properties

Desipramine (C₁₈H₂₂N₂, M_r = 266.4 g/mol) is the main active metabolite of imipramine (desmethylimipramine). It is present in drugs as desipramine hydrochloride, a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water.

Effects

Desipramine (ATC N06AA01) has antidepressant properties.

For the treatment of depression.
