Diagnosis | Headaches with nausea

Diagnosis

In the case of a combination of headache and nausea, the first thing to do is to take a detailed medical history, including how long the complaints have been going on and whether such complaints have ever occurred. This is followed by a detailed physical examination of the patient. This includes the measurement of blood pressure, listening to the heart, lungs and abdomen, taking fever measurements, blood sugar measurement and, if necessary, a blood test.

A neurological examination is also a significant and important examination. It is important to know whether the head can be bent without discomfort and whether the pupils are aligned or indifferent. A pupil of different size would indicate a serious neurological disorder, such as a cerebral hemorrhage or tumor.
