Especially with small children and babies it is advisable to consult a pediatrician if you suspect sunburn. He or she will take a medical history, particularly with regard to previous exposure to the sun and possible lack of sun protection (sunscreen with a high sun protection factor, sun hat, other protective textiles). The affected skin areas are then examined.
