2nd-order laboratory parameters–depending on the results of the history, physical examination, and obligatory laboratory parameters–for differential diagnostic workup
- Small blood count
- Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
- Exclusion of metabolic disorders:
- Uric acid in blood serum – if hyperuricemia/gout is suspected.
- Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol – if hypercholesterolemia is suspected.
- Triglycerides – if hypertriglyceridemia is suspected.
- Microbiological examination – for suspected infectious diseases.
