Disorders of Peripheral Ligament and Muscle Insertions: Upper Extremity, Hand, Foot: Test and Diagnosis

2nd-order laboratory parameters–depending on the results of the history, physical examination, and obligatory laboratory parameters–for differential diagnostic workup

• Small blood count
• Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
• Exclusion of metabolic disorders:
  • Uric acid in blood serum – if hyperuricemia/gout is suspected.
  • Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol – if hypercholesterolemia is suspected.
  • Triglycerides – if hypertriglyceridemia is suspected.
• Microbiological examination – for suspected infectious diseases.
