Dizziness while lying down

In advanced pregnancy (approx. from the end of the second trimenon), sleeping in a supine position should be avoided, as the uterus is now increasing in size and can therefore press on the veins (especially the inferior vena cava). This hinders the blood flow to the brain. Other symptoms when this complication occurs are ringing in the ears, nausea or palpitations. It is recommended that pregnant women sleep on their side.

Dizzy spells

Dizziness can indeed be a sign of pregnancy. This is often combined with headaches. The cause is the hormonal change. However, dizziness alone is not a reliable sign of pregnancy. However, if it is accompanied by other “safer” signs such as the absence of menstrual bleeding, a slight implantation bleeding, new morning nausea or touch-sensitive breasts, pregnancy can be considered if unprotected sexual intercourse has taken place in the previous weeks/months.

Treatment with homeopathic remedies

Homeopathic remedies may help with dizziness during pregnancy. However, homeopathy should only be used for mild symptoms. It also depends on which accompanying symptoms occur and when. Known remedies are Cocculus, Bryonia alba, Conium maculatum, Gelsemium sempervirens.
