Dosage

In case of stable angina pectoris, arterial hypertension or Raynaud’s syndrome, 3 times 5-10 mg should be given. If necessary, the medication can also be increased. The maximum dose is 60 mg a day.

In a sustained release form (i.e. the active substance is released over a certain period of time) 2x 20 mg and a maximum dose of 80 mg per day should be administered. Treatment of a hypertensive emergency should be given with a 10 mg capsule to bite. The onset of effect can be expected after 30 minutes at the earliest.

Adalat® can also be administered via a vein infusion. In this case, the equivalent of 5 mg should be administered in 4-8 hours. A maximum dose of 15-30 mg/day should not be exceeded.
