Dosage and intake | Schüßler salts

Dosage and intake

In acute cases, one tablet of the appropriate remedy is taken every 5 minutes until improvement. Then, and in chronic conditions, one tablet 3 to 6 times a day. For calcium fluoratum D3 the maximum dose of 4 tablets should not be exceeded.

All remedies should be taken 1⁄2 hour before or 1 hour after meals. They should be allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth without additional liquid. This allows the active ingredient to be absorbed directly by the oral mucosa, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract, and to enter the bloodstream.

During treatment with biochemical agents, strong stimuli such as alcohol, nicotine, pungent spices should be avoided. For children under 12 years of age, the usual dosage for acute complaints is one tablet per hour. Subsequently and for chronic complaints up to 3 tablets daily.

For infants and toddlers, crush the tablets into a powder and give it directly on the tongue. It is generally recommended not to take different tablets at the same time. If two remedies are necessary, they should be taken at different times, preferably alternating daily.

D6 is needed for almost all functional products. Exceptions used to be Calcium fluoratum, Ferrum phosphoricum and Silicea. These were used by Schüßler because of their lower solubility in D12. Today, however, it is quite common to take these agents in the D6 as well.
