Dosage | Perenterol®.

Dosage

Perenterol® capsules are taken unchewed with a glass of water before meals. To make it easier for children or older people to take the capsules, the capsule can also be opened and the contents stirred into meals or drinks. Children from the age of 2 years and adults with acute diarrhea usually take 2-3 capsules of Perenterol® 3 times daily, or 1-2 times daily one capsule of Perenterol® forte.

The same dosage applies to the prevention of travel diarrhea, whereby the intake should be started about five days before departure. If persons who are fed by tube suffer from diarrhea, usually three capsules of Perenterol® forte are opened and the contents stirred into 1.5 liters of nutrient solution. This can then be administered to the patient.

For the treatment of acne the usual dosage is one capsule of Perenterol® forte 3 times a day. For the duration of the application of Perenterol® there is no fundamental limitation. In acne therapy the therapy is recommended over several weeks.

In acute cases of diarrhea, the therapy should be continued for several days after the diarrhea has subsided in order to optimally rebuild the intestinal flora. Perenterol® is available in different strengths. Perenterol® forte is a preparation with 250mg dry yeast (Saccharomyces boulardii).

The preparation Perenterol® contains only 50mg dry yeast. The indications are the same for both preparations, only the dosage may differ.Perenterol® junior is the third available dosage strength besides Perenterol®(50mg) and Perenterol® forte. Perenterol® junior is administered in powder form and contains 250mg dry yeast just like Perenterol forte.

Due to the powder form the preparation is especially suitable for children, because it is easier to take and has a pleasant taste. The powder can be stirred into food or drinks, but these should not be too hot or too cold. The dosage of Perenterol® junior for acute diarrhea is 1-2 sachets per day. For prevention of travel diarrhea the usual dosage is identical, but the intake should be started five days before departure.
