The following symptoms and complaints may indicate “typical drowning”:
- Vertical position of the drowning victim in the water.
- The victim tries to push the water away from under him, he steps down.
- Due to an onset of shock breathing, the head is placed in the neck.
- Drowning people do not respond to a shout, because they literally lack the breath for it.
Symptoms of dry drowning are:
- Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
Symptoms of secondary drowning include:
- Aggressive behavior
- Pale skin
- Blue coloration of the lips
- Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
- Diarrhea (diarrhea), vomiting
- Fever
- Cough
- Fatigue, lethargy
- Chest pain (chest pain)
- Rapid and shallow breathing
- Restlessness
- Forgetfulness
