Mandatory medical device diagnostics.
- Gastroduodenoscopy (endoscopy of the stomach and duodenum) with biopsies (tissue sampling) for detection of Helicobacter pylori – as basic diagnostics in cases of suspected duodenal ulcer and after therapy.
Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Radiograph of the abdomen (radiographic abdomen; abdominal survey) – for suspected hollow organ perforation (duodenal perforation/rupture of the duodenum).
- Abdominal voiding radiograph in the standing or left lateral position: evidence of hollow organ perforation due to free air under the diaphragm (diaphragm).
- Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen (abdominal CT) – if complications such as bleeding, perforation are suspected.
