Duodenal Ulcer: Symptoms, Complaints, Signs

The following symptoms and complaints may indicate duodenal ulcer (duodenal ulcer):

  • Epigastric pain (upper abdominal pain):
    • May occur late after food intake, at night, or else in the fasting state (fasting episodes/fasting pain) or independently of food intake
    • Often improvement of symptoms after food intake
  • Nausea (nausea)/vomiting
  • Weight loss

Note: Duodenal ulcers (duodenal ulcers) are also often asymptomatic, meaning they occur without symptoms. This is especially true if it is an NSAID-induced ulcer (ulcer caused by taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/anti-inflammatory drugs). The analgesic (“painkilling”) effect usually caps the discomfort, and it is often not clinically apparent until bleeding occurs.
