Duration | Bruise of the finger

Duration

How long a bruise on the finger takes to heal completely depends on the individual. The extent of the trauma suffered and the measures taken after the injury are decisive. Depending on how severe the swelling is, weeks can pass until the pain is completely gone.

Bruises can appear and disappear even if there is still severe pain. The strain on the finger should be done slowly and sports should be avoided until the pain has subsided. If the pain persists disproportionately long and the swelling does not subside, a doctor must be consulted. Behind a supposed bruise can also be bone fractures or tendon injuries, which make another intervention necessary.
