Duration | Bump on the forehead

Duration

Most bumps on the forehead are only short-lived. If the trigger was an injury such as hitting your head on an edge, the bump will slowly disappear over the course of a few days until it disappears completely. A bruise that may have occurred at the same time can persist for a few more days.

You can influence the duration somewhat by cooling the affected area immediately after the injury. In addition, one should not lie completely flat when sleeping but with a slightly raised upper body. This will help the removal of the water retention responsible for the bump on the forehead.

With other types of bumps, the duration can vary. If a new bump develops and exceeds a duration of two weeks, a medical examination should be carried out.
