Duration | Cow’s milk allergy in the baby

Duration

Cow’s milk allergy is a so-called allergic reaction of the immediate type. Allergic symptoms of an allergy to cow’s milk occur in a temporal relation to the consumption of dairy products. They occur directly or within a short time (a few hours). If the consumption of milk is stopped, the patient is free of symptoms. Under certain circumstances, the allergy may disappear in higher childhood, but often the only therapy for a cow’s milk allergy is to strictly avoid cow’s milk and dairy products.

What is the connection with neurodermatitis?

Neurodermatitis is one of the most common inflammatory skin diseases and usually manifests itself already in childhood. It is often associated with other allergic disease patterns, such as bronchial asthma or food allergies. Therefore, an allergy to cow’s milk can often occur in addition to neurodermatitis.

However, it is not the cause of this. Probably due to a genetic predisposition, some people tend to suffer from hypersensitivity reactions, such as food allergies or neurodermatitis. This is called atopy.
