Duration – How long does the palate itch?
Palate itching can be extremely annoying, but usually does not last too long. Especially in the context of a cold it disappears within a few hours to a few days or turns into sore throat. A treatment with simple household remedies that lasts for a few days can provide significant relief.
With allergic itching of the palate, the unpleasant feeling usually occurs for a few hours or less. Here, too, cooling and moistening of the mucous membranes can often provide relief. If the itching on the palate lasts for a long time or recurs again and again, a doctor should be consulted. The doctor can then decide on a medicinal remedy if necessary.
